Medical Secretary/Receptionist

Applications are invited for a part-time, permanent position in a medium-sized, semi-urban Primary Care Medical Practice on the outskirts of Inverness. This is a combined front/back office role, with a comprehensive spread of responsibility. Working in a friendly and busy environment the successful candidate will be required to operate reception computer and telephone systems, electronic document management and clinical administration systems and must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with common business/IT software applications (e.g. MS Office) is essential. Previous experience in a primary care environment and/or knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.

We have a position available to cover 26 hours per week. You would be working to a team rota which may require extended hours working (until 8pm) for two evenings every 4 – 5 weeks. We would ideally be looking for applicants who are flexible to cover the occasional sickness and holiday. This position is subject to a probationary period of six months from the start date.
